The fun starts with high quality rear camera selfies
Because the flip screen and rear cameras are on the same side, the Galaxy Z Flip smartphones are unmatched by anything else Samsung makes when it comes to taking selfies.
This is because you can capture selfies using the rear cameras, which offer much better quality than any front camera. And in that regard, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is the best Flip yet, thanks to its improved 50 MP primary camera.
From more detail to stronger colors, selfies captured by the rear camera offer numerous benefits. Some of these benefits are demonstrated by the selfie below that was taken with the front camera (left) and the rear camera (right).
To shoot rear camera selfies, all you have to do is double-press the power button without unfolding the phone to launch the camera app on the flip screen.
You can click photos by simply tapping the screen or pressing one of the volume buttons. Alternatively, you can extend your palm towards the camera to initiate a time-lapse.
You can also switch between different modes. Swiping right will take you to portrait mode while swiping left will bring up video mode.
Want to take a selfie with a large group of friends or family members? Just tap the zoom button in the lower left corner of the cover screen to switch to the ultra-wide camera. Or zoom in if you want a close-up selfie to satisfy your inner narcissist—we won’t judge.
Make beautiful portraits with Portrait Studio
Have you taken high-quality selfies with the rear camera? Keep the fun going with Z Flip 6’s Portrait Studio feature. Portrait Studio uses the power of Galaxy AI to make stylized portraits based on your photos.
Portrait Studio takes your face as a reference and creates a 3D sketch, comic, watercolor or cartoon version of it. No matter which style you choose, you get multiple results that you can save to your phone’s gallery.
These portraits are designed to look just like you. The results aren’t always accurate, but if you don’t like it, you can try again as many times as you like.
To use Portrait Studio, open any photo of yourself or other people in the Gallery app, tap the Galaxy AI icon below it, and press the Portrait Studio button. Next, select a comic, 3D cartoon, watercolor or sketch depending on the type of portrait you want and press the Generate button.
Once the portraits are created, you can swipe left to cycle through all the results. To save a portrait, simply tap the save button in the lower right corner. To try again, swipe to the top left and tap Generate again the button.
Get amazing AI generated backgrounds
Wallpapers? No one cares about them, do they? Well, wrong. People still love to try out new wallpapers on their phones, and for them, Galaxy AI provides a huge playground where they can create custom wallpapers based on various customizable parameters.

To customize the cover screen with generator wallpapers, go to the phone Settings » Cover screen menu and tap Add a new one the button. Then tap on Generational the button on Create with AI section.
To change the wallpaper on the home screen, go to Settings » Background and style menu. Select Change backgrounds, then tap Generational the button on Create with AI section.
