According to the Attapur police, in 2020, the victim, who was from an economically weaker background, became acquainted with Zaffar. When Zaffar’s cousin Nayeem learnt of it, he orchestrated a plan to gangrape her, police said.

Zaffar took the victim her to an under-construction site in Rajendranagar, where Nayeem joined him and the two then gangraped her and pushed her from the first floor building.

When she survived, they allegedly threw her near a hut near the RGIA police station while she was unconscious state. This spot turned out to be near her residence. Her parents spotted her and shifted her to the Osmania Hospital. A police case was registered.

Two months later, when the girl’s condition stabilised, a district magistrate recorded her statement. Following this, using CCTV cameras, and the phone number of the accused that the victim possessed, the accused were traced out and arrested and convicted.

Cyberabad Traffic Police X Account Hacked, Users Alert

Hyderabad:The Cyberabad traffic police’s X account was reportedly hacked on Friday. The hack became known after a couple of users spotted the handle reflecting the fake account of a company CEO.

According to the users, the handle showed a profile picture and username of the CEO, which was mis-spelled. The account has still not been deleted by the handler.

The traffic police acknowledged the issue, but did not admit that the account was hacked. An IT cell constable, responsible for handling the account told Deccan Chronicle, “Yes, there has been some issue, but we do not know what it is about. We are working on analysing the problem and fixing it. We will surely detect the problem maker too.”

It is worth mentioning that this is the third hack after the Hawkeye app and the TS Cops hack. Besides, the websites of the three commissionerates had gone down briefly.

Man Arrested for Robbing Relative’s House in Balanagar

Hyderabad:The Jagadgirigutta police have arrested a man for allegedly stealing from the house of his relative, Balanagar ACP Hanumantha Rao said on Friday.

The accused has been identified as Nadgotti Bharath, 23, of Warangal. The arrest was based on a complaint lodged by Jangam Paramesh of Kukatpally.

Police said Paramesh and his family locked the house on December 15 and returned at about noon on December 18 and found the window glass pane broken. On entering the house, Paramesh found the almirah broken and some gold ornaments missing.

During the investigation, it was found that the accused was a distant relative of Paramesh. The accused’s parents had reportedly passed away when he was young, as a result, he grew up in an orphanage. He had since resorted to robbery and was jailed in 2020 and 2022. A total of 12.7 tolas of gold, worth `7 lakh was recovered from his possession pertaining to this case.


Alwal Merchant Found Dead, Financial Issues Suspected in Suicide

Hyderabad:An Andhra Pradesh native residing in the city allegedly died by suicide on Thursday night, Alwal police said. It was suspected that the victim, Janardhan, a merchant, was facing financial woes.

Police said he was alone in the house at that time. His brother, who arrived after a while, found that Janardhan was not opening the door. He got the door broken open, and entered the house, only to find Janardhan’s body. The body was shifted to the Gandhi mortuary for postmortem examination.

RTC Bus Hits 54-Year-Old Man Fatally in Dundigal

Hyderabad: Fiftyfour-year-old Kummari Siddhaiah, a resident of Suraram, was fatally hit by an RTC bus on Friday morning, Dundigal police said. He was walking on the road at that time. Locals informed the police, who registered a case. The body was shifted to the mortuary for postmortem examination.

KPHB Police Register Case After Youth Beaten in Hostel Mistakenly

Hyderabad:The KPHB police registered a case against four persons for allegedly beating a youth up at a hostel on Friday in an alleged case of mis-identification. Gali Vara Prasad, 29, lodged a complaint that he was beaten up by Adli, Pushpa, Sumanth and another unidentified man.

The victim told the police that after he was assaulted, the attackers realised that they beat the wrong person. They reportedly asked people at the hostel about Prasad. When they pointing to him, the four thought he was their target.

A case was registered at the KPHB police station and further investigation is underway. The accused were absconding, police said.

Kokapet Construction Blast Injures Five

Hyderabad:Five persons were injured by stones raining down on them reportedly following a detonation at a construction site in Kokapet, Narsingi police said on Friday.

It was stated the locals were not informed about the blasting at the site.

According to reports, the mishap happened as a result of a real estate firm setting off a detonator at a construction site near the Neopolis area. Reports said locals ran for shelter when the stones started falling on them after a loud sound.
